The Phase II Program, which consists of out-patient group counseling sessions, was developed for those DUI offenders who were found to experience individual and/or family problems related to alcohol. The purpose is to allow the offenders to look beyond the DUI offense and examine the effects alcohol has had on their lives.
The Phase II program is a combination of education and treatment. There are 4 sessions, 2 1/2 hours each, and the group size is approximately 12 members. The topics consist of the following: values, clarification, personal inventory of alcohol/drug usage, problem solving, responsibility issues, family issues, AA/NA programs, alternatives to drinking and examining interests and skills.
