The Drug & Alcohol Treatment Program provides services to the Criminal Justice System of Luzerne County, as well as the community at large. These services include assessment and evaluation; outpatient and intensive outpatient counseling and treatment on an individual, group, or family basis; referral; aftercare.
Also, assessment and evaluation services are available to individuals incarcerated in the Luzerne County Correctional Facility (LCCF). Those inmates requiring out-patient care are referred to the LCCF’s in-house treatment unit. inmates requiring a higher level of care (such as in-patient treatment) will be referred to the Luzerne County Case Management Unit to obtain appropriate placement. Individuals in the LCCF’s Work Release Program can obtain (with appropriate referral) assessment, evaluation, and out-patient treatment.
Treatment follows a primarily cognitive-behavioral model. Emphasis is also placed on community support services such as AA and NA.
