Welcome to St. Vincent de Paul Kitchen
About Us:
St. Vincent de Paul Kitchen responds to the unmet need of poverty and hunger in the Wyoming Valley.
Located in downtown Wilkes-Barre, the Kitchen serves 300 guests daily a hot, nutritious meal.
St. Vincent de Paul Kitchen is the only mass-feeding program in Luzerne County and we serve anyone in need of a meal without question or restrictions on guests.
Our Mission
In the Catholic tradition and the spirit of our parton, St. Vincent de Paul, the hungry are fed in collaboration with volunteers and donors from all faith communities. The Kitchen provides a free, hot, nutritious meal to all faith communities everyday of the year. Staff and volunteers strive to be of assistance to others and serve with a spirit of compassion, respect and dignity.
Our Needs
The Kitchen is supported financially by donations received from individuals, civic groups, church groups, the business community, and anonymous donors who care about the less fortunate. Meals are prepared with foods, which have been either purchased with financial contributions or donated by local restaurants, bakeries and supermarkets.
Sponsor for a Day Program
In order to ensure the daily operation of the Kitchen, an annual campaign soliciting contributions of $125.00 or more is conducted. A donation of $125.00 or more helps provide the daily meal. Each contributor becomes a “Sponsor for a Day” and is recognized during meal service.
As the “Sponsor for a Day,” you may select a specific date for the meal you are sponsoring, and we strongly encourage you to join us that day in serving the meal. Meals can also be sponsored in honor or memory of another person or persons if you so choose.
